    Hello,

I changed my sitemap base url from /sitemap_index.xml to /folder/sitemap_index.xml but I get “404 not found” for my new sitemap url.

I updated permalinks, turned on/off sitemap feature, deleted cache but still no success.

I don’t want that other users can see my sitemap, that is why I want to change base url or sitemap name.

    Thank you!

  • Hello!
I had the same problem and I had it fixed like that:
You first have to change the sitemap url in robots.txt at the editor of Seo -Tool and after that in the Search Console.

    Hallo,
ich hatte das gleiche Problem und Ich habe es so gelöst:
Du must zuerst die Sitemap URL im robots.txt Editor unter Seo – Werkzeug ändern und danach in der Search Console.
