# 403 Forbidden Error

 * Hey,
 * I’m trying to get WordPress to work with 1&1. Having taken a whole night to set
   up WordPress on 1&1 (wasn’t the easiest 5 minutes of my life). I finally got 
   it to work and set up an admin password. It took me to the dashboard where I 
   then was hapily reading the first steps using WordPress when all of a sudden 
   it came up with the following problem.
 * _Forbidden
    You don’t have permission to access / on this server.
 * Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument
   to handle the request.
 * It now displays this everytime I go back to the domain. Can anyone give me a 
   hand before I tear some more hear out. I’m still looking forward to actually 
   designing my first website when it eventually works.

 * hey guys – im having the same trouble but i installed mine through cpanel in 
   a subdirectory. i think i need to add an htaccess file or adjust the one that
   already exists in the root folder?
