Just to be sure, are you talking about an error in the link checker? Or are you just saying that a 403 error appears when you click this link that gets displayed on one of your site’s pages?
It’s just when I click the link on one of my pages. The strange part is the link checker says the link is ok.
Is that a public page I could take a look at? Have you tried clicking on this from more than one device?
Also, in the WordPress admin panel, when you created the link, did you put a slash at the end of the link?
http://www.zeiss.com/ instead of http://www.zeiss.com
Yes I put the / in and have tried it from multiple computers
you can access it at:
http://d21.7a3.myftpupload.com/links/
Can you try removing the trailing slash from the link? That might be causing the issue according to this page:
http://www.getnetgoing.com/HTTP-403.html
I’ve tried that as well. I just changed it and you can see it still does not work.
Really not sure what is happening here. Have you tried putting that link just on a normal WordPress draft page, then seeing if it works that way?
I just tried that and it does the same thing. It’s very strange. I’m making the site live today with our domain. I will try it again after. Perhaps the site in questions is blocking something.
Very strange indeed. The only thing I can suggest is that when you visit zeiss.com from the address bar, you see that there is actually an automatic redirect that brings you to http://www.zeiss.com/corporate/en_de/global/home.html. Perhaps making the link go directly to this address would resolve the issue.
I just brought the site to our domain and it seems to be working now. The site in questions must have been blocking referals from the temporary domain.
That is very interesting. Thanks for the update.
