# 403 ERROR

 * I upload a pdf as a downloadable product but when trying to download the product
   after a purchase I get a 403 error. I uploaded the pdf using woocommerce dashboard
   and not wordpress media library and I tried all the 3 methods for download and
   still I get 403 error.
    What is the reason? how can I fix it? thanks ahead! my
   site: charismamasters.com

 * 403 error means there is a permission/restriction issue on your site.
 * 1. Check the permission of the wp-content/uploads folder. Please have a look 
   at this guide [https://wordpress.org/support/article/changing-file-permissions/#permission-modes](https://wordpress.org/support/article/changing-file-permissions/#permission-modes)
   
   2. If using Apache, please check if there is any restriction towards PDF files
   or wp-content/uploads folder. 3. If using a security plugin, please disable it
   temporarily and see if that helps. If that helps, look at its settings and disable
   the related feature. 4. Contact your hosting provider to see there is any misconfiguration.
