idea you can do like wise chat: https://tinyurl.com/22g5tr3z
Glad to help. The plugin currently does not require “open folder access”.. the only requirement is WordPress. Unless I am misunderstanding what you mean..?
@specialk thanks for the fast reply Jeff.
Can you please can see the linked screencast…
link is in the “The page I need help with:” section here on this page.
Yeah the plugin works normally on properly configured servers. When a 403 error happens, it means that for some reason your server has incorrect permissions set on the plugin file(s), as shown in your video. By default all plugin files have file/folder permissions that are best suited to work great with WordPress. When that doesn’t happen, it means there is misconfiguration on the server. In such case, best advice is to ask your web host for help, they will know how to quickly set the proper CHMOD (permissions) for files and folders, so the plugin can work normally.
@specialk I can set permission via FTP what permission needed to be set?
cloudways do don’t allow by default access plugin folder for security and not read what plugin the site uses.
Wise chat could be an alternative.
as I will recommend cloudways service to my clients and it is working out of the box.
Correct permissions depend on various factors such as server setup, etc. Here is WordPress official guide on setting file permissions. There are additional resources to be found via search engine.
