4.0 Betas revert the Akismet 3.0.1 update

    I noticed that updating to 4.0 Beta 1 and Beta 2 both pushed Akismet from 3.0.1 back to 3.0.

    Akismet is installed, but inactive.

    Other installed plugins:
    Background Update Tester (version 1.1, inactive)
    WordPress Beta Tester (version 0.99, active)

    That’s normal. Akismet is bundled with WordPress, but the version that is bundled with WordPress isn’t upgraded until the final release, so Akismet 3.0 will likely be bundled with all the WordPress 4.0 beta/RC releases until 4.0 is finally released.

    You can avoid the problem for now by manually upgrading to each beta release.
