This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Seventeen theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

Thanks for the ideas, James. I switched to the 2017 theme and it didn’t fix the problem. I was prepared for that but really bummed that switching to that theme and back broke many of my customizer settings. I had to rebuild some stuff, like moving the footer to the sidebar, lost my front page image and grabbed the wrong menus. I finally got that sorted, but maybe that advice should come with a disclaimer.

My theme vendor, Site Origin gave me an easier idea than disabling all of my plugins (which would make a dog’s dinner of my site). They suggested I turn on the debugger in config.php. It immediately pinpointed that Search Everywhere had a fatal error. Turned off that one plugin and boom! Problem fixed.

Thought you’d like another idea to tell people. Again, thanks for chiming in to lend a hand.

    Thank you!
