  • I dl’d the plugin yesterday, but am hesitant to install it and the new beta of Gallery2 as it took me awhile to get everything working correctly the first time. Am I worried for nothing, or is the upgrade pretty painless? 🙂

Well, it really depends on what you have changed. Since it looks like you have Kubrick the wp stuff should be easy. The G2 upgrade path has been smooth for me. If you do it via CVS then yes it is pretty painless. If it is a dev snap then you need to make sure to backup some files before you upgrade. I’ve found the new G2 theme system to be much better and the overall speed is improved as well. It’s really up you as i’m not privy to your last upgrade experience. 🙂

You can also post questions on the boards as well, we are happy to help!

    It’s perfect!

I’m playing with gallery 2 locally at this moment. It looks good, although a bit too heavy (16Mb!) and too many options really. When installed and running, can it be made lighter? All the options not in use, can they be deleted?

Gallery2 comes with a boat load of modules, I turn most of them off and that seems to lighten the load considerably..

Gallery 2 now has smaller versions of their program packaged for download. http://codex.gallery2.org/index.php/Gallery2:Download

When will WPG2 support mod_rewrite rules? or does it already and I’m just not seeing them…

    e.g. search engine friendlyness =P

Finally upgraded to the RC1 release of Gallery2 and got the new G2 plugin. Although I had a slight hitch in the giddy-up during the upgrade of Gallery2, the plugin addition and theme was flawless. Good work on the integration.

Don’t really have time to figure out all the ins and outs of the plugin but if you have any suggestions after visiting the link above, please let me know.

A lot of work has obviously gone in to this, good job.

WPG2 Plugin has now reached 1.0 stable release Milestone (Along with Gallery2)

For more information please visit the WPG2 Plugin Site -> http://wpg2.ozgreg.com/

    Yup, Gallery2 1.0 is released.

The site has ben /.’ed so don’t bother going to look…
