No plugins to show

    When I go the Plugins page in my dashboard, the only message I get is “No plugins to show”. I’ve pulled all the plugins from wp-content/plugins and added them back separately but none ever get detected.

    I install the plugins by downloading the files, unzipping them and copying to wp-content/plugins. Then I change the group to my webserver’s www-data group and set perms every way that I can think of.

    WordPress 2.9.2

    I’ve googled around quite a bit but have not been able to resolve this and get wordpress to admit that any plugins exist.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.
