• Hi,
I have been running a side project blog for a while now. I’ve been getting a lot more hits to my blog and decided to by a domain. I’ve added the domain as an Add-On domain to C-Panel.

    My blog was ***.cjs.au.com
    and now I’ve bought ***.au.com
P.S replace *** with my blog name.

It’s still going to be hosted in the same part of my server:
    /public_html/***
and I’m going to for the time being redirect ***.au.com to ***.cjs.au.com
But when I want to make it more permanent, how do I change it? Is it as simple as following this:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL
    or is my case different.

Remember: Same Host. Same location. Different address.

My thanks to anyone who helps and I’m sorry if this is in the wrong section or is a repeat post. I couldn’t find the exact same problem via search.

Im not actually moving anything though.
When I go to ***.au.com it takes me to the same folder on the server as going to ***.cjs.au.com. It’s just, when I get there all the links (to posts/categories) link to the old subdomain when I want them to link to my new domain.

Would it be as simple as going to Settings>General and changing the URL there?

Trust Samboll he is a professional and has been doing this a long time. Just changing the URL in Settings >> General should crash your site.

guess not sure then what you are saying
if you had a sub domain, wasn’t it in a folder of of public_html?
if you truly are in the exact same folder then you can just change the 2 site url’s

It’s the exactly the same place as the subdomain.
So, without redirection, if you go to ***.au.com/do or ***.cjs.au.com/do you get the same page.
Would it still crash if I change it in general settings?
    Thanks
