  • Can someone please help me figure this out. I have been getting a 500 Internal Service Error for my blog, I can’t view it at all.

So I made a post on the thread here to figure out how to fix it and I was directed to do so through the use of phpMyAdmin.

The only way I was able to download and open this was through using BitZipper….so now I have no idea what I should do in Bitzipper.

I dont want to have to delete anything, I just want to be able to sign in again and get back to blogging…can someone, anyone please help me.

    Thanks in advance,

    Breanne

  • While you were in phpmyadmin, if you changed your user name and/or password, you must also update wp-config.php from your ftp so they match.

Thanks for responding Inspired2Write but I didn’t change my name or password at all. That and I don’t think I am actually able to access phpmyadmin because I have opened it using bitzipper…and it looks nothing like the phpmyadmin area. Although i can’t be positive beings as I have never used this before.

All I need is to get rid of this silly 500 error and be able to log in again…what is happening? I didn’t think wordpress was this shoddy.

I didn’t do anything besides click on a plugin upgrade then after that I get a 500 error that won’t go away.

    Arghh..

    any other suggestions please?

I didn’t think wordpress was this shoddy.

Out of frustration, I can understand how you feel. It isn’t a WP issue, but rather a potential problematic plugin, and/or possibly a conflict with the plugin and the configuration of your hosts server (assuming you’re plugin is a security one that may require some configuration settings.
