• Yesterday I installed AWCP and everything seemed to go smooth. I received 3 emails shortly after that said “Customer attempt to pay for classified ad listing has failed”. I currently have the payment feature off while I get it set up the way I like. I’m not really sure if someone tried to post something or if this happened while I was messing with the settings. I figured I’d give you the heads up.

Today when I saw the emails, I tried posting a test ad. It went through fine. However, I tested posting it in a parent category (with the parent category option turned off). When I went to click on the parent category, it didn’t show it. It did show a (1) next to the category though.

So I turned on the “Prevent ads from being posted to top level categories?.” Posted a new test ad. And it still shows no adds even though there is a (1) next to the categories.

I am going to hide the AWC plugin, but u can see the page here: http://www.freewestchester.com/ads/

  • Are there any ads in a sub category of the parent category? The total ads in the category will be shown next to the parent category, so if there’s an ad in one of the subcategories it will be counted in the “total ads in category” which gets shown next to the parent category. So even if the parent category has no ads it can still show a value if children categories have ads.

I did check the link though and “Art Other” shows 1 ad but clicking to view the ad returns no ads found. Is there supposed to be an ad in “Art Other”? It’s a better idea to post support questions on the support website. I don’t check the forums here very often.

I’m looking into the “Customer attempt to pay for classified ad listing has failed” bug.
