# 3.9 Automatic Update Not Working

 * When I attempt to update automatically to 3.9 by clicking ‘update now’ on the
   updates page, it takes me briefly to the page where I put in my FTP information,
   but immediately redirects to the page ‘introducing’ me to 3.8.1, with a message
   at the top reading “An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please
   attempt to update again now.” So, I never get the chance to put in my information,
   which I believe is why it’s failing.
 * I’d rather not have to manually update it, so any ideas what the issue could 
   be? Let me know if you need more information.

 * I would manually install 3.8.3 actually and see if that kicks it into shape. 
   But really a manual update for this is as simple as copying files up 🙂
