Help with the basics of main page code

    I’d like to know where I can find the code that controls how the main section of the main page is displayed. For example, I can easily see the sidebar, header, and footer coding. But most templates also have a “main section” of the main page in which recent posts are displayed. In which files can I find the coding for this section so that I may change the way the recent posts on the main section of the home page are displayed?

    usually the theme’s index.php or home.php, depending on which you use
