Working on a plugin for this feature right now, but seeing as I surely don’t want to use it I had a question for Lio.
Would you be restricting the deletion of posts to a particular category or all categories? Are there going to be posts that will be there forever? Currently, I’m implementing the plugin to simply delete all plugins that are older than a specific date in all categories.
It will delete all the comments associated with posts as well.
Is this what you would like?

What about an “auto-move plugin”? It may be useful for some people to have an “old listings” or something. So instead of deleting the post it would be cool to have a plugin that moved a post after a certain date to another category….just a thought.
Nice idea, that shouldn’t be too hard to make. Next version. 🙂

EncryptDesigns’ notice seems to me very relevant : an auto-move plugin would be maybe a good compromise…

Thanks for making this plugin, I am looking for a plugin that will allow me to enter the date (or amount of days) that i want the post to be deleated. I only want this for a few of my posts and not all. For example, I have a section with training events that are obviously on a certain day. After that day passes I want the post to disapear. Is this what this plug in does? Or does it move it to another category – as that isn’t a problem for me? I am just a bit reluctant to download the plugin as i am not sure if it will get rid of ALL my posts, which i don’t want it to do.

In it’s current incarnation this plugin will delete ALL posts that are older than your set date, or move ALL posts into a single category.
Since I’m currently adding the feature to do the moving of posts, I could just as easily add an extra feature to the deleting of posts that allow you to restrict deletion to only a single category.
If that works, lemme know and I’ll incorporate it into the next release.
