Very slow MySQL (maybe sleep problem)?
-
I have a dedicated server where I run, amongst other things, a blog network. All blogs use the same configuration (WordPress version, plugins, theme) and they even share files for maintenance purposes.
But for some reason one of the blogs is lately noticeably slower, taking sometimes up to 1 min to return a page. This only happens with dynamic pages, not static ones, so it seems a MySQL problem. There’s no reason for that blog to be slower: no more traffic than the others, no bigger database, no more spam…
I visited a blog page and did a “show processlist” via SSH; I got this:
+——–+———–+———–+———+———+——+——-+——————+
| Id | User | Host | db | Command | Time | State | Info |
+——–+———–+———–+———+———+——+——-+——————+
| 668796 | wordpress | localhost | deporte | Sleep | 25 | | NULL |
| 668797 | wordpress | localhost | deporte | Sleep | 21 | | NULL |
| 668799 | wordpress | localhost | deporte | Sleep | 3 | | NULL |
| 668800 | wordpress | localhost | deporte | Sleep | 0 | | NULL |
| 668801 | admin | localhost | NULL | Query | 0 | NULL | show processlist |
+——–+———–+———–+———+———+——+——-+——————+It seems MySQL processes remain “sleep” for a long time. I tried restarting MySQL, restarting the whole server, cloning the database and using the new one instead (in case it was “broken” somehow)… nothing works. The thing is this only happens in that blog, and I have no idea why.
BTW, when I run a query on that database via SSH it works quickly with no problem.
What could be the problem, what could I do/check?.
Thanks in anticipation.
