Turn comments off by default on pages, but not posts

    2.9.2 — Why doesn’t the drop down list show this version?

    I can’t figure out how to turn comments off for pages only, I still want comments on for posts just not pages.

    i know i can manually untick the “Allow comments and pings” to prevent on a per page basis, but i keep forgetting.

    Not a big problem, just curious if it can be done?

    You could edit your theme’s page.php template file and remove <?php comments_template();?>
