How to customise field data similar to views 2 in Drupal

    Hello World.

    My name is Fred, a Drupal developer trying my hand at developing a site or two using WordPress. I like the ease of the setup process, and would like a few pointers to get my development project underway. Those who speak Drupal fluently are welcome to relate a ideas/features that wordpress has to offer.

    So now my question:

    Is there a plugin similar to views 2 in drupal, where I have the freedom to customize what content/field data in the order/layout of my choosing? I presume this would produce (in the wordpress language) a widget?

    Any links to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
