[Plugin: WP Super Cache] WordPress with BuddyPress makes Super Cache think the install is WPMU

I just installed BP 1.2.2.1 on my WP 2.9.2 install (latest as of 13 March), and the Super Cache plugin is saying this in the “Mod Rewrite Rules” section:

WordPress MU Detected

Unfortunately the rewrite rules cannot be updated automatically when running WordPress MU. Please open your .htaccess and add the following mod_rewrite rules above any other rules in that file.

So do I really need to update the rules?
