• I’m testing the password protected blogging funtion. However when I test it, it doesn’t seem to work. After blogging, it will show the title and ask you to enter a password. Upon entering password, nothing happens. I’ve tried to enter from 3 different PC’s, I can get on the blog site and see the blog entry asking for password, but in all cases entering password does nothing. I’ve tried posting several password protected blogs and they all see to behave the same.

  • I have experienced that too on occasion while viewingi in Firefox but if I visit in IE (desperation only), it works fine. A cookie issue I assume? No idea how to fix though.

I’m using win98, xp and IE6.0. Maybe my ssl function is out of date but I doubt it and I doubt this feature is being used here. This feature seems important so it needs to be looked into.

According to what a brief search has informed me, there’s one of two things happening.
    1) Your blog address has a trailing slash in general options. Remove it.
    2) You need to clear your cookies.

Yep, the removal of the tail end slash in the URL option was what did it. Why such small details can have such an unrelated effect. Makes computers pragrams scary!
