anyone interested in making extcalendar2 a plugin?

i’ve setup a site for some friends that have a car club. i couldn’t find a nice event calendar for wordpress when i came across extcalendar2
component for Mambo but there’s also a standalone http://sourceforge.net/projects/extcal . this would be perfect for my friends and Mambo’s way more than what they need so i was wondering if anyone would be interested in making a plugin out of this much like what was done by ozgreg and co. for the wpg2 plugin at http://wpg2.ozgreg.com
obviously my coding skills are remedial but i would be willing to pitch in any way i could…
