Just installed 3.7.1 today. no images work, I updated the permissions, went through the list. When I FIRST went to my dashboard, all images are showing the no-img icon.

I've seen the other threads, went through the list of fixes and updated my permissions. Any other ideas?

There are MANY problems with 3.7.1 and it should have never been released.

Check your permalinks and make sure it didn't default back to the wordpress default option

@helgahal & @amsgator: It is impolite to interrupt another poster's ongoing thread unless you are posting a solution or suggestion. It causes significant problems for the forum's volunteers and prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Please post your own topics.

@esmi I'm pretty sure I told her to check his permalinks structure as it is known to cause image issues when they get messed up.

Just like every wordpress install I've done, no images work until I turn on permalinks or generate the .htaccess myself.

no images work until I turn on permalinks

I can only assume that this is server specific as I have never come across this in 10 years of installing & using WordPress.

It might be, not sure. I think it's more-so the htaccess file that gets generated when permalinks are turned on that fixes it. But I don't want to hijack the thread with another problem

Might be worth posting a new topic about this.

Ok, got it. First I updated all the permissions which were set too low...
then fixed the permalinks, now it's working. Thanks.
