I’m not sure about Exhibit, but with the regular upload feature it *should* use a standard link ref for non-image files (compressed or otherwise). In fact I just tested it, and 1.5.1.2 correctly identified zip files as non-image ones, that is it knew enough to provide it in an anchor tag and not an image one.
I’m of course assuming your file has the ‘proper’ .zip extension?
Thanks for letting me know that. After reading yr. post I went into the images folder & found the zip file. So it WAS unloaded. But it was still compressed in zip format. How do you unzip it & access the images?
In my own photo gallery (pbase.com) the uploader will automatically unzip the images & display them on uploading. How do you do the equivalent in WP?
“How do you do the equivalent in WP?”
You’d have to make use of an image gallery plugin/script/utility that provides this, as WordPress onlys uploads the file, and little more. I’ll have to leave to others more knowledgable on the image side of WP as to whether there’s anything out there that fits your needs.
It looks promising. Thanks for mentioning it to me. I’ve uploaded & activated it. I’ll test it out tomorrow.
I just clicked on the Photo Zip quicktag & received this error:

Dangerously writable: [/home/richard2/public_html/tikun_olam/wp-content/plugins/photozip/manager.php]

Does anything come to mind that I’ve done wrong in the installation?
richard, I have never seen that error before. Could it be the problems with chmod or the server?
