[nextgen-gallery] error when creating galleries or uploading files

    I keep on getting error messges saying the gallery can’t be created or files can’t be uploaded because of safe_mode settings. Unfortunately, my provider refuses to switch safe_mode off. Also, I’ve set file permissions to wp-content/gallery to 777 but to no avail.

    Is there anything I can do? Thanks in advance!

    First of all its never a good idea to disable safe_mode!!
    You provider is doing right!

    Check that the ngg-config refer to wp-content/gallery and not for example wp-content/uploads/gallery.
    Check that the “gallery” directory have the 777 permissions, if you cant create a gallery in WordPress, create the directories by hand, set the 777 permissions and try it again.
    Sounds stupid but most of the problems are little overlooked things.

    I have the exact same problem – I just cannot create a new gallery. All paths are correct but the error message keeps telling me there is a safe mode problem. Alsom all permission are set to 777!! WTF?

    Hi Alex,
    I’ve got your plug-in already installed ( the newest version of the Next Gen Gallery) but after updating The Word Press to 2.9.2 version this plugin generates errors ( “Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.”)as given below:
    – I can NOT edit miniatures
    – I can NOT add gallery to the web page
    How to solve these problems?
    When I try to uninstall and install again , still the same , it does not help
