Upgrading from 2.1.1 and Backup

    hey — i have wordpress version 2.1.1 which i need to upgrade to 2.9.1
    it says u can either automatically upgrade or go to tools > upgrade
    the problem is my dashboard does not have an upgrade button and neither does it have a Tools button.
    how do i upgrade?

    also i would like to know how do u take back-up?
