• Hello, I just recently began using wordpress for my first time. I was able to successfully get the software functioning on website and all seems to be running fine except for one small detail. When I look at my main dashboard, it looks nothing like everyone else dashboard that I see on screen shots or web videos. I made sure all my flash and java was up to the lastest version, as well as my firefox web browser. Also I think that some section links dont function exactly as they are suppose to. Is there some type of plugin or configuration detail that I am missing? I will include a link to a screen shot so that you can see what I am talking about.

  • Try re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

something is definitely messing with your layout. When that happened to my WP install….it was because I had been hacked.

Visiting your site….I wonder if it isn’t because you are using free hosting that is adding in those ads at the top of the screen. I worked on a friend’s blog a while back that used godaddy free hosting, and I could never get it to behave properly

I installed WP 3.0.1, but my site is behaving strangely, especially after I made changes in General Settings (site title, timezone) and now I can’t even access my dashboard. I have not yet installed any plugins nor themes. I reinstalled WP, but the problem continues… Then I changed my database and made a new one. Now it is working fine… Keeping my fingers crossed… Posting this just so it may help someone.
