• Resolved ghacks

    (@ghacks)

I switched to W3TC a few weeks ago after using Super Cache for a long time before that. It took a while to sort everything out and everything worked fine in tests (various web browsers).

I recently however got a few emails from Opera users, e.g. Opera 10.10 or Opera 10.50, who said that the website sometimes would display garbage instead of the contents.

I’m not sure why this is only caused sometimes and not all of the time and would like to ask if this issue can be resolved or if there is a way to block Opera from the plugin.

The website in question is http://www.ghacks.net and I’m happy to provide any additional information that you might need to resolve the issue (like the htaccess file).

    thanks in advance,
    Martin

The issue seems to only appear when the page is cached, when it is not cached (e.g. when I delete the cached pages) then it displays the website fine.

I seem to have fixed it by adding the Opera user agent to the agents that never get to see cached pages.

Try using gzip method only for page cache. WordPress doesn’t do a good job right now with deflate.
