• I have not been able to figure this one out. It’s been happening for months, through several new versions of WP, no matter what browser I’m using.

On my very long posts (due to using WP as CMS) I have a guide at the top of the post, and several sections to the post itself, with the section heads bolded. All is usually fine until I put the page jumps in in HTML. Sometimes if I go back to WYSISYG, when I look at the site itself, the headers are gone. If I then go back into HTML, what I see is the tags with nothing in between them! It’s just 100% gone. IF I’m lucky, I can add them back in and they’ll stay.

Anyone got any ideas why this is happening?

  • if you compose a page/post in html, you can never edit that page in WYSIWYG

switching between editors on a post will almost always strip the formatting….

its unfortunate but ya gotta stick with the html editor once you start using it for a particular post

Ok, that helps a lot. It did work, and still does work sometimes. What I do is do the page in another editor (Live Writer) and paste it in because for some reason Live Writer can’t talk to my server. I have to do it in WYSIWYG or it doesn’t take it at all. I’ve been going in and doing page jumps once it’s in, and then adding in one thing that’s less important but requires tables at the end.

These pages are huge, and coding from scratch it not an option, so I have to use something WYSIWYG at first.

Actually, looking at it again…it’s not stripping the formatting. It’s stripping what’s in between the formating, and JUST the things that have page jumps. And it’s only doing it if I look at it in full-screen mode.

This has got to be a WP known issue, doesn’t it?
