  • I have the same error.

It appears as though the settings is looking in the uploads directory instead of the wp-content directory as stated in the instalation guide.

When trying to add a new release under ‘Manage Releases’ the plugin fails to open the directory. Is it a permissions problem or file path issue? Any advice on this bug would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi all,

We are currently fixing this issue and hopefully, it will be available with the next plugin version.

    Best regards,

    Armin

Great! I’ve hard coded the file path in the mean time. It’s a great plug in. Looking forward to your update!!

    Cheers,
    Paul

I had to hard code the download path too. When I enter a download code now though, it takes a really long time fore the download link to appear. When it does appear the download link is empty…
Plugin’s rad! I hope i can get it to work haha, so also looking forward to the update!

How do you hard code the file path? I’ve taken a look, and I think I see what needs to be done, but I’m still fairly new to php.

You should be able to specify the absolute path to the download file folder in the “Settings”. Just enter the path in the field “Location of download path”. This functionality was added in a later version of the plugin.

I have a similar error. No matter how I specify the download path (via creating a folder in uploads or by entering an absolute url), when i go to create a release, it never finds a zip file in the folder so I can’t select anything and get past this point.

Any ideas? I have placed a valid zip file in my specified folder but the dropdown menu used to select the zip file is always empty.

Is this a problem with WordPress 3.0?

I think it may be a path problem. No matter what absolute url I put in, it begins with a ‘//’ before it on the Manage Releases input page.

So if my absolute url is http://www.website.com – the Manage releases displays it as //http://www.website.com

With “absolute path” the internal path on the server’s filesystem must be specified. For security and other reasons, it is not possible to provide an URL here, but you must define the direct and absolute upload folder (e.g. “/home/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/…”).

That worked great but now we have a new problem.

I enter a code and can see the download link to my specified file.
Problem is, the download link goes nowhere. The code for the link is…

    <a href="">link is here</a>

The address to the zip isn’t being picked up? Any ideas? thanks again for your help.

UPDATE – the link works fine in all other browsers except for FIREFOX. Why does the link fail in Firefox? Any ideas?

any ideas? lots of people use Firefox, that’s for sure. This most certainly does not work with Firefox.

I’m having the same problem. Works fine in everything except Firefox. Any ideas on how to make this work?
