• I wonder if WP and you girls and guys out there can fix this.
    With MySQL 3.23.53, php 4.3, on apache 1.3 I was lucky to setup my first WP instantly. Now a friend of mine, who is hosted on the same server, wanted me to built a WP-Blog for him. This setup was also successful, but know it takes up to 50 seconds for WP to show or generate posts.

    Both Blogs have different IP’s and Databases, so that i guess, that the problem is PHP.

    Please help me milking that bug (of mine?).

    thx

  • Around 50 seconds? that’s a LONG time…

    I have around 5 different WP blogs running on my one server, and it’s still the same speed…so I don’t see why yours would slow down so dramatically…

    sounds like a config issue to me…

    Ooops…
    Is there a possibility, that WP 1.5 running beside WP 1.5.1 cause this phenomen? I have modified my (the first Blog) so much, that i’m simply to affraid in the moment, to upgrade to 1.5.1. The other (later) Blog is a 1.5.1…

    Try disabling all of your active plugins, one of them is more than likely causing the problem. It’s highly improbably that there is is an issue when running v1.5 alongside v1.5.1. Personally, I have 5 blogs on the same server, and services like WordPress Blogs and Blogsome have far more than that running at the same time on the same server.

    The only Plugin I’m using is the wpautop-Plugin. After restarting Apache the performance first was faster, but after a few logins (not new posts) we have the same snail again.

    So I ‘ll check out the setting from Apache for PHP, i’m not very closed to that, because until WP i always used to do things like that in Perl.

    Thx to all.

    Try upgrading to WP v1.5.1.2, you shouldn’t loose any settings, and it may fix the problems. Just follow these instructions: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/33189#post-187724 They are technically for v1.5-v1.5.1, but they’ll work for v1.5.1-v1.5.1.2 as well.

    @macmanx:
    I followed your suggestion, both Blogs are running fast now. Almost anything appears correctly now.
    So may be, that there in deed was a problem for php running an older and newer version beside each other.

    Thx
