    Hello,

I have a WP blog where the image-browser.php file was deleted upon upgrade.

I’ve gone in and deactivated the plugin, deleted and installed both Image Browser files in their proper locations, reactivated the plugin and still receive this error in the popup window when I click on Insert Image on the Write page:

The requested URL /wp-admin/image-browser.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have confirmed that the image-browser.php is indeed in the wp-admin folder. The full path is correct.

    Any ideas?

Clear your browser’s cache, quit the browser, then re-launch and check again.

    macmanx,

Thank you for the suggestion. Given that I have many windows open in Firefox, I was not currently prepared to quit the browser. So I did the next best thing: I went into the site with IE, since I have never entered this site’s admin through IE, I figured it was a safe bet.

Unfortunately, I got the same error. I feel like I’m in a twilight zone! I can’t figure what I am missing! That file is there in the wp-admin folder! With permissions set at the default 644. I’ve checked it through ftp and cPanel’s file manager (why? I’m redundant, just in case I missed something the first 5 times I checked). I’ve looked at the file on the server through edit mode (without resaving), and as far as I can tell it looks like the one I’ve d/l’d from the plugin author’s site.

    I just don’t get it…

Have you tried to contact the author? Are you using, just to be clear here, Skriker’s Iimage Browser or Florian Jung’s Image Browser – Iimage Browser is built on and extended version of Image Browser.

Assuming it’s the former, or even latter, have you downloaded a fresh copy and tried that version? I would try version 1.4.2 first and see if that works, though I’m guessing I’ll get slapped because you’ll tell me that’s exactly what yo’re using 🙂

I am using Florian Jung’s Image Browser. Yes, I d/l’d and installed the most udated files, and yes, I have emailed the author — Several hours ago. He hasn’t gotten back to me, yet. 😉 (Strange that on the plugin page the version is listed as 0.4.2 – in both browsers [see above] – and the file itself claims to be 4.4, yet the zip file is titled “0.4.5”)

Would you say Shriker’s is better? If that is so, maybe I ought to try his. Would you mind giving me a link?

Ah I think he’s in the middle of his exams/thesis at the moment. I need to know if he could help with something, and he said he was tied up.

Well you can always try skirker’s extended version of Florian’s plugin, it has more features but the upload method is the same. Deactivate and delete what you have currently making sure both image-browser and image-browser-plugin are removed and then try skriker’s version and let us know how you get on.

Jinsan, I sure appreciated your efforts in trying to help me. It was so driving me crazy.

Come to find out, the host was in the midst of working on the site – switching nameservers and the like. Whatever he was doing impeded my efforts. It’s not my site, and there were several hours between his request for help and the first opportunity I had to work on it. Eventually the site became unviewable for the rest of the weekend.

His site finally got back online this morning, and everything is working just as expected. I guess I actually did do everything right, except to first check in with my client to make sure nothing else was going on.

    Thanks again for everything!
