• This is a fairly basic layout. I wanted to keep it nice and clean. There is only one post for now, but you will get the idea. I started off with Kubrick, and re-wrote the basic styles and layout, as well as some other changes. Comments are appreciated!

  • I like! Simple, clean, …
And the navigation link in the header is a good thing!

If you feel like it, care to look again? I made some changes 🙂

Thanks again for your words 🙂

It’s a very “condensed” site at the moment 😉 but I’m sure it will grow with more choices. I would like to see it with at least three posts to get a feel for how it would look in the spacing between the posts and in the categories.

The colors and layout is very nice, powerful without overpowering. I like the search in the header. Great touch. Very simple which means people can concentrate on the content. And good choice for font and font-size, though in the single post, the example of the code given is really really small. You might want to increase the font size there.

In Firefox, the footer’s red box doesn’t reach to the bottom of the line because the footer line wraps, pushing the gray box down longer, but it stays together in MSIE. Honestly, the XHTML validation and such links are there as examples and since your site validates, and since your site is NOT about validation, you might want to get rid of them and either replace them with something else or leave it blank. You have such a clean look, why have needless clutter.

The eight ball answers in the header are a nice trick, but they aren’t nice if the first view of the site features the words “The reply is no” or “Don’t count on it” right next to your logo. You might want to move that down to the footer, with some kind of eight ball reference, (or put it in an eight ball look – black circle, white text) as many people have no idea what that means. I am currently getting about 10-15% of my site viewers from outside the United States and that number keeps growing. Most of those people will not recognize an eight ball phrase, nor many of today’s American youths.

It’s nice, refreshing actually, after seeing a lot of clutter on many new WordPress sites, and very clean. Keep up the brilliant work!

Thank you for that great reply! 🙂 I will be adding some more articles soon from the old site, so that should give me a bit better feel as well.

I will look into the Firefox issue. I had been testing with both so far, and that was the last thing I changed so I guess I forgot to test 🙂 Thanks for the heads-up.

I will consider cleaning out the footer. I feel that I probably need _something_ there or it will look a bit off. I will see. I know I really don’t need the query count, or page generation time either. It might be confusing as well to some.

The 8-ball answer was just something silly I put up there. I was either going to change the random text to something more fitting (and trying to make it less-lame than most random quote scripts), or simply using it as a basic site description. Since it looked a little empty up there on the index page. So I am not married to the idea of keeping it or anything 🙂

Once again, thanks for your comments! They have been insightful 🙂
