visual editor buttons don’t work

    i am running latest install of WP, and recently upgraded my system. after upping to win7 and reinstall of google chrome (my dominant web browser), when i try to click on buttons in the visual editor (add link button, edit image button on image select) the pop-up lightbox comes up, and then i get a download dialog for the html file related to the popup. suggestions?

    more info:

    tried to reload the includes and admin directories to no avail. i still get empty JS pop-ups, and a download/file save as dialog whenever i hit a button that brings a popup in the visual editor toolbar.

    funnily enough, the upload/insert buttons used to be having the same problem, but have miraculously stopped behaving this way.

    the problem is also cross-browser, affecting firefox and chrome. oddly, IE is unaffected. any ideas?

    Try to install newest flash player..

    Maybe you must update the chrome.
