[resolved] 3.5 RC3 Customizer - Missing Header Image Panel, remove button outline (3 posts)

When I enter the Theme Customizer for Twenty Twelve on a clean install, the “Close” button has one of those unsightly dotted borders around it (focus: outline: none;).

Also, shouldn't there be a “Header Image” panel? I see the “Background Image” panel, but no way to easily upload a header image from the Customizer.

In my testing, once I upload a header image via the dedicated Header panel (themes.php?page=custom-header), the “Header Image” panel also appears in the Theme Customizer, but not until then.

    Is it just me?

The section was removed in 3.4.2, see https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/21355.

It's one the plan for 3.6, see https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/21785

Thanks for responding, Dominik. I get the reasoning, but it seems an odd omission from 3.5.

It's also possibly confusing for beginning users (my WP101 members, for example), since the Header Image and Background Image panels in the Theme Customizer appear only AFTER one has visited the dedicated Header and Background pages and uploaded images.

    Anyway, thanks again!
