• So I’ve upgraded to 1.5.1 and now I get a little orange icon in Firefox that tells me I can subscribe to the RSS of my BLOG. 🙂

But the question I have is, it gives me 3 choices: RSS, RSS2, and ATOM.

I know NOTHING about this, but I do know that my readers will be confused. Should I disable all but 1 to make it more simple?

If so, which protocol should I retain? Anyone know any pro’s and con’s of 1 protocol versus the other?

    Thanks!

  • Well… rss2 and atom are the two ‘standards’ that are fighting for dominance. On the one side, Microsoft uses rss2 on its web site. On the other, well er… lemme see… er… mm… well, for what the information is worth, atom is said to be better. Then again, QDOS stood for Quick and Dirty OS, was precisely that, and eventually became Windows.

Atom is apparently “better” and beginning to gain popularity, but (from what I’ve seen) RSS2 is still the standard these days.
