• Hi. I uploaded wordpress but when going to the installation page /wp-admin/install.php to finish off the installation I get:

    500 – Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

I have checked the file is in that directory, so anyone have any idea what’s gone wrong?

    TIA for any help 🙂

  • You need to contact your webhost. Chances are you dont have the sufficient privellages. Can you CHMODD the contents to 777?

    Which hosting are you using?

seems like a php problem, but you probably can’t do anything but contacting your webhost.

I have hosting with bglobaluk; I emailed them and they said I may have something mismatched in the config file like a database name or database username but I did it all one step at a time so it should be ok.

The control panel is plesk which I’m not familiar with so I’ve emailed them for a fast pointer to getting these details in the database.

I don’t want to change CHMODs yet as the installation instructions didn’t say to do it so by my reckoning it should be working without needing to do it?
