Do you have custom permalinks enabled? If so, try updating your permalinks. (Options > Permalinks)
Yes and I’ve tried updating it several times.
You know, I don’t know a lot about RSS and I’ve been trying to find stuff about it in the Codex but it appears to be hidden. 😉
Hmmm. I can get to your RSS 2.0 feed here. The /feed/
permalinks don’t work, though. There’s got to be an error in your .htaccess file. I would check that to ensure your feeds are being redirected appropriately.
As a professional programmer, I hate to ask, but I’m working on my ability to admit that there are areas I haven’t a clue about. I’m just getting back into web programing, so I’m going to ask.
What should be in the .htaccess file? (I’ve been searching high and low for this info to avoid having to ask. 😉 )
Does it matter that my index is not in the wordpress directory?
Hi there
I don’t know too much about RSS feeds but I know a great deal about .htaccess and what is in there should not be played with too much if you don’t know what you are doing.
Your webhost or even your webhosting control panel may have written to the access file for things like url mod rewrite, error page redirects or even old url redirects.
Check here for the answer and then be sure to check with your webhosting provider before attempting to access and change your htaccess file.
Some hosts do not allow customers to change the .htaccess file.

I applied the RSS fix.
What is the “the RSS fix”? There are no reported bugs with the RSS feeds in WP v1.5.1.1.
@nmallory, unless you have a good reason for it being there, you’ll want to remove the feed/ directory you presently have off your root. Once that’s gone, your feed link should work.
Re: “RSS Fix”
I read through the support forum and a number of people were having problems and there was a suggested fix, which I applied.
Re: The feed/directory
I deleted the physical directory but the RSS link appears to still try to go there.
Permalinks appear to work if I click on the links to posts. They look pretty in the url address bar.

Looks good to me. Try clearing the disk cache in your browser. By the way, good looking theme you got there. ;)

The “fix” that you probably found is for an issue in v1.5.1. This was corrected in v1.5.1.1. You are running v1.5.1.1, so you may want to replace whatever files you edited with clean ones from a fresh download. Again, there are no reported bugs with the RSS feeds in WP v1.5.1.1.
Your feed is working fine now, but I would still replace the files that you have edited to apply “the fix”.
O.K. Weird.
Funny thing is that I was getting frustrated reading other RSS threads where suddenly it just started working for other people. 😉
Thanks — btw, I did have to clean out my cache. Weird since I just cleaned it out last night.
Oh, and I do like the colors of that template. Very nice job. 😉 Though I’ll probably design my own after my CSS class is over in June.

FYI, The problem was the feed directory that you just deleted. You needed to clear your cache in order to see the changes after deleting the feed directory. Your cache’s status last night would have made no difference.
I guess I really should qualify. It’s weird about the cache because it took awhile to clear it not necessarily that it needed it.
