Title: 3.42 upgrade problems – database upgrade Last modified: August 20, 2016 --- # 3.42 upgrade problems – database upgrade * [Phantom WOLF](https://wordpress.org/support/users/phantom-wolf/) * (@phantom-wolf) * [13 years, 9 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/342-upgrade-problems-database-upgrade/) * After viewing old topics, I still have the same issue after upgrading to 3.42, just completed the upgrade and I get the screen asking to update the database, once I click on this I get the WordPress logo and it goes no where! I have attempted to use the resolve tips I read on another post with no avail! I tried: * 1) Switching to the twentyeleven theme 2) Renaming my plugins folder to plugins. hold 3) Installing a fresh copy of 3.42 minus the content folder * I even attempted the phpmyadmin edit of the plugins folder. Nothing is working to resolve this issue. Does anyone have any thoughts? * Thanks in advance! It still has the same issues. I have worked on this for hours and days and tried every different which way to fix it and it still will not update the database to 3.42 so I can access the admin menu, do you think that this issue could be for users of the software that have numerous posts? I have over 2000 + posts.. its crazy! and I know the security issues with 3.41, I got an email from my host that files were hijacked and spam emails were sent from my account using the wordpress software, I really have to get this working or move on to other software and I do not want to do that because I love the wordpress layout! * _[ Please do not bump.
