• Having an issue when I go to update (save) a page, post, link, or anything at all the page goes blank and gets stuck. When I go back to the admin the changes took effect, but how do I avoid the white page?

    Similar problem to this:

I deactivated all my plugins and it works fine. Reactivating any of them makes it start again. I don’t have an .htaccess file.

    Any suggestions?

Now when I try to login it goes to a blank white page. I can’t even get in the admin area.

    anyone?

Hi, Ashley. I just registered, you’re my first reply.

I had a similar problem. I was testing my comment.php by replacing it with another comment.php from another theme. Then some my pages went blank. So, I put my original comment.php back but no results.

Then I had a hard time trying to log out. My WP dashboard indicated I was still logged in even though I logged out. After that, I just close my browser. Then I opened my browser again to log on and every thing was blank. No admin page to log in.

My original blog theme is 2.5 but I’ve upgrade WP Cpanel to 2.8.6. I think these problems occurred when I started updating. Previous problems started were: misaligned header tabs and lost of pages. Good thing I had my database backed up. And this was before 2.8.6.

I’ve read other bloggers were rolling back to 2.7.1. So, I did the same. I’ve been working on my affiliate blog for over twelve months and I’m not about to switch themes to match WP 2.8.6 upgrades and others to come. If this is the case, you’ll be switching themes every six months.

I need to move forward not backwards. I want to finish my blog not waste time, energy and stress fixing it. No more upgrades for my current theme.

    Start with this link: hacktrix.com

Otherwise you may have to rollback…Link: techie-buzz.com

You also may need to send a problem ticket to your host service. If things get too dicey (tricky).

Good luck! Someone out here, hears your cries.

You know, that’s bad advice. 🙁 2.7.1 is insecure. You’re likely to get hacked, and that’s an even bigger stress and waste of energy to try and clean up properly. I don’t think anyone here would recommend rolling back.

Ashley3ee, if you’re still having the same problem, use FTP to rename your plugins folder to, say, “plugins2”. What happens? Which plugins have you got? (either active or inactive)

Thanks, Alism for bringing that up. I was thinking about looking into a few security plugins.

    Link plugins for security:weblogtoolscollection.com

I am also having the same problem.

When I save anything from admin or post a comment/post, I get a blank page. The comment/post gets posted alright though.

Things are fine on the default theme. But only when I change theme, the problem appears.

Only two days ago, things were fine. But I messed up my permalinks and started having this problem. Then I went back to an old database. But still I am having this problem.

Try increasing your memory_limit. If you have access to edit your php.ini, or if you can set it in your .htaccess, you can do it that way, though you may need to contact your host to have the memory_limit increased.

Same thing with me at http://www.pampermeplace.net – all was well until I changed the theme, now nothing comes up but blank white pages on blog and in admin. Have no idea what just happened. I’m using 3.0.1

OK, now that was weird. I just renamed the plugin folder to plugin2 to see what happened and my page came back just fine as well as the admin. The plugins show as not activated but everything works. I then renamed the folder back to plugins and it’s working! Go figure!
