An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request.

    I’ve been getting a lot of those errors lately when trying to update a post or activate a plug-in. What causes these errors? I’ve only just started noticing these with 2.8.6. Eventually the request goes through after hitting “try again” a few times, but this is inconvenient and I’m getting ready to hand off this website to a client.

    Have you tried turning on WP debug mode to help narrow down the problem? You’d add define('WP_DEBUG', TRUE) into your wp-config.php.
