• Hi all,

I am thinking about setting up a wp site with 3 blogs on their own subdomains and I was wondering if i could install only one version of wp to handle the 3 blogs.

Basically i’ll have http://www.example.com as the domain and blog1.example.com; blog2.example.com; blog3.example.com. On the root page I would like to be able to display info from all three blogs and all the login info. I know i can install wp on each subdomain and then try to hack it to have common login and be able to display latest posts.

Any ideas on how to structure this would be really appreciated!

    Thank you,
    Anton

  • Take a look at WordPress MU.

Thanks for the reply equalmark but that doesn’t seem to solve my problem…

If i understand correctly, you can create a multitude of blogs with MU that would be pretty much separate entities, so I wouldn’t be able to show on the home page the latest posts in the 3 subdomains. I could even install the regular WP using the same db and achieve the same results.

So i guess, my only option would be to have one regular install with 3 categories and have 3 pages, each one showing a different category.

I was trying to avoid the extra php coding (i am totally overwhelmed by php) to display only a certain category per page.

If you have any other ideas I would really appreciate the input!

    Thanks,
    Anton
