Support » Fixing WordPress » Can I use two different permalink rules for static pages vs blog entries??????

My site has primarily static pages (and has a static page as HOME). I’ve added /title as my custom permalink structure and it works well for almost everything. The problem is that the individual blog post pages result in a not found error since their page “title” is actually an “entry-title”. How can I create a separate rule for blog entry permalinks?

To see what I mean, check out this URL:
    http://yoursoulsatisfaction.com

You will see the /title works for “yoursoulsatisfaction.com/blog” – same for /events, etc.

However, when you click on a particular blog entry, it displays
yoursoulsatisfaction.com/title. Blog entries in this theme use entry-title as their “title”. Should I edit the theme code to make entry-title reflect “title” or will that cause problems?

I tried setting the permalink to [[ /entry/entry-title ]] hoping for domain.com/blog/post “post” being the title of the day. But it didn’t work either. It resulted in “domain.com/entry/entry-title” (those exact words) so I’m just not sure how to resolve. This site will soon have many more static pages and my client really wants to have “pretty page title urls”.

In short I need two permalink rules. One for static pages and one for blog-entries. Can this be done?

Using /%postname%/ resolved this issue. Thanks to samboll for the fix!
