How do I lock/offline WordPress while it’s being built | WordPress.org

I searched and can’t see to figure out how to lock or put wordpress offline so that it requires an admin to login. This way I can work on the site and knowbody has access until I’m done.

Hi,

You can also add this code in htaccess of your blog:
```
<Directory "/usr/local/apache/htdocs">
Order allow,deny
Deny from all
Allow from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
</Directory>
```
Directory path set to your blog directory and allow from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is your IP address from which you want to access the blog.

Already added the plug-in http://www.twistedmac.com/freemacapps/

It will be like that for a fair bit until i work on the site as i’m not in a rush so done for now 🙂

Maintenance-Mode has always been my favorite. Simple and easy to modify the index page.
