Site url?
In the mean time, try deactivating all your plugins. If that doesn’t work, regenerate your Permalinks (Settings > Permalinks).
the site url is http://www.lisagilbertphotography.com/blog
I think the only plug in I have is Askimet, and I will go deactivate it. Thanks you…
okay, did all of those things, and nothing yet…
Hmmm. Have you altered something in the directory above it?
Try going to Settings > Permalinks, selecting Default, then Save Changes.
I don’t think I have altered anything. My hosting company has been looking at it all day and so I imagine anything in my file manager would have been picked up by them. They think it’s a WP issue.
I chose default (it was that to begin with) and saved changes, and sadly, nothing yet. I so appreciate you trying to help me….Can you think of why this is happening?
Can you switch to the default theme?
Do you have a .htaccess file in the ‘blog’ directory? If so, can you post it here?
This happened to me once when I broke my site theme. Try changing it to the default theme and see if that works. π
well, that was interesting. This is what appeared when I went to change to a default theme:
Warning: uksort() [function.uksort]: The argument should be an array in /home/lis/public_html/blog/wp-admin/themes.php on line 65
Warning: array_slice() expects parameter 1 to be array, boolean given in /home/lis/public_html/blog/wp-admin/themes.php on line 86

I generally use a ProPhoto theme that I purchased. It hasn’t ever given me any problems, but clearly there is something messed up in there somewhere.
As for the .htaccess file, I didn’t see anything with that name anywhere on my file manager page.
and for good measure, when I tried to download one of the default themes, it gave me an error message and told me the installation failed. So I don’t have ANY themes at all to choose from. Just that message that I posted above.
I am so sorry to trouble you with this, but I’m a little freaked out!
No worries about the .htaccess.
The reason I asked about the theme was because, well, by default, they’d be in this directory:
http://www.lisagilbertphotography.com/blog/wp-content/themes/
But yours doesn’t seem to exist? You’ve not been doing any spring cleaning have you?
no! I haven’t touched anything. That whole file manager scares me anyway. DO you suppose my themes were deleted? That would be why the blog is gone, no?
Okay, you are such a big help. Any thoughts on how to recover those themes?
Ok… Download a fresh copy of WordPress:
http://wordpress.org/download/
And unzip it onto your hard drive.
In the copy you’ve just downloaded onto your hard drive, find the wp-content folder. Inside that, there should be a folder called ‘themes’.
You want to upload that ‘themes’ folder, into the /blog/wp-content directory on your webspace. So you: end up with /blog/wp-content/themes/
FTP is the easiest way, or your scary file manager might be able to do it too. π
Going to bed in a minute – gone 1am here!!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!!! I so appreciate you taking the time to walk me through this. I am off to do what you suggested, and I will send good karma your way. You are a gem!
No worries, looks like it’s coming back now… Hopefully you’ve got a copy of the theme that you were using previously that you can reinstall too and you’ll be pretty much back to normal.
Might be a good time to do a complete back up of your site and database too, just in case anything else goes wonky mysteriously!
G’night. π
Fixed. You are a life saver!
Backing up furiously!
