• I need some help here because I can’t edit the post “hello world” using the visual editor on a newly installed WordPress from 2.7.1 then auto-upgraded to 2.8.4 via host server on one of my blogs. I’ve tried all possible means from setting visual editor to “on” and “off” to the point of deleting a database, installation of WordPress upto reinstalling my theme but to no avail.

    Assistance is highly valued.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – reading http://wordpress.org/support/topic/279132?

It’s a clean install. Doesn’t have any plugins except default Akismet and Hello Dolly. It was upgraded right after installation. Tried switching default theme but no result. Tried all options, threads, Google, all futile.

Can you post and edit other posts?

If nothing else, since it’s a fresh install. I would try downloading 2.8.4 from this site and doing a nice clean install and see if the problem resolves itself. It would be faster than trying all of the steps to fix the issue.
