    Agreed. More compression options would be awesome.

    And yes, I think I will replace my old backup plugin (WP DBC) with this one, since it includes the files too. Now if only I could think of an alternate FTP server to save to, to guard against DreamHost’s weaseling out of any responsibility for my data…

    good news for you….
    backwpup now supports (in dev. version) tar.gz and tar and tar.bz2 Archives.

    PLease test the development Version and give feadback.
