 * I tried installing WordPress 3.1.1 and my WordPress recognized the new installation
   and everything works except for when I try to go into the Network Admin. It does
   not load. All the sub-sites still exist and I can access them through My Sites,
   but I can’t control them through Network Admin as nothing loads. I tried reuploading
   the 3.1.1 files but that didn’t do anything.

 * [@jmglodge](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jmglodge/): blank white pages
   mean PHP errors. You’d need to find log files from your host to find out what
   is wrong.

 * Andrea, no, I can’t. I did what Ipstenu said to do. That was over an hour ago.
   After I reloaded everything, I clicked the upgrade link. The message at the bottom
   bar of my browser says: “Waiting for [http://insertmydomainnamehere.com/wp-admin/network/…&#8221](http://insertmydomainnamehere.com/wp-admin/network/…&#8221);
   It’s been that way for over an hour.
 * I did check my error logs yesterday. Nothing. No error log in the public_html
   file.
 * Basically it’s just hung up. I can’t get it to go to that page anymore. I’ve
   had no blank pages.

 * [@tim](https://wordpress.org/support/users/tim/) / tmoorewp: Thanks for your
   reply, how do I do what you suggest? where will I find the log files and what
   should I be looking for?

 * [@jmglodge](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jmglodge/): best way to find
   out is to talk to your host. Every host is a little different about how they
   store files.

 * Hi,
 * I managed to find the solution through another online video specifically for
   setting up wordpress for hosting company ‘fasthosts’ [http://vimeo.com/5993338](http://vimeo.com/5993338),
   if anyone has the same issues just follow this video to the letter – I had not
   included my server IP address on the wp-config.php page.
 * All done! and working! thanks for your help guys!

 * I sent a message to my webhost. I’m all out of ideas here. My sites are working.
   I just can’t access the Network Admin, and it won’t go to the upgrade page so
   I can upgrade my sites. It just hangs up. Not sure what else to do.
 * Thank you to all of you for your help. I really appreciate it. I will let you
   know what my web host says. Might help others.

 * > Can you explain the MU plugins thing? I set up my network after WordPress 3.0
   > came out. I never used MU. Are you talking about plugins I used network wide?
 * There’s a folder, same level as plugins, called mu-plugins. Stands for Must-Use
   Plugins. These are ALWAYS on, can never be turned off. Very useful for things
   you want to set network wide and NOT edit the themes for.

 * I went through and switched the theme like Ipstenu said and then renamed the
   plugin and mu-plugin folder to deactivate all the plugins. Still couldn’t access
   the Network Admin section. I tried switching back to my old theme and renaming
   the plugin and mu-plugin folder but now the website is not loading and says that
   error with the loop.

 * Noticed that having the plugins activated causes the redirect loop message on
   the website. Still can’t get into the Network Admin though.

 * What error do you get for the Network Admin now?
 * I should point out here that the ORIGINAL poster is having this problem on a
   BRAND NEW install.
 * If you are having this problem on an UPGRADE, please do me, and everyone else,
   a favor and make a NEW topic. Hint hint 😉

 * I am having this issue on an upgrade.
 * The error is the same as it was before ‘This webpage has a redirect loop’

 * Okay, when you said this:
 * > I tried installing WordPress 3.1.1…
 * THAT implied a FRESH install. You gotta be specific! 😀
 * How far back did you start on MultiSite? Did you make it off WP 3.0 or was this
   an old WPMU install? Yes, it matters.
