Installed and activated plugin Bulletproof security, this plugins changes .htaccess files to improve securitey, after changing the .htaccess file in the public_html file there was no problem, I carried on an allowed it to create a .htaccess file for the wp-admin folder, instantly got a 500 error and have been unable to access the admin area since.
I cannot find a htaccess file in the wp-admin folder, I have reverted the .htaccess file from the public_html folder back to as it was and I have removed the plugin from content/plugins folder. I have even restored a back up and I still cannot access the wp-admin area.
The server error is –
