Display Most Recently Commented Posts

I’ve been looking for a sidebar widget that will display the most recently commented on/or created posts. I’ve only found one, and it was last updated in – I believe – 2005.

Essentially, I’m looking for a running list display, such that if a new post is made – that post goes to top of list, a new comment is made on another post – that post (not comment) goes to top of list.

This makes a lot more sense then a list displaying most commented posts. If there’s an old outdated post with 300 comments hogging the top spot, what good is it if that post is two weeks old, and the discussion has moved on to other topics two weeks ago?

People want to be where the discussion is happening now.

Does anyone know where I can find a reliable widget that accomplishes this? Anyone?
