I’m making changes to settings of a plugin in the admin area of my post. When I do that, I have to click Update. This causes the Last Modified date to change, though the post itself (the part visible to blog readers) is unchanged.

Is there a way to stop Last Modified from updating in this situation?

    Thanks very much.

  • Have you tried Stealth Update?

I hear you Vicki. That looks like the plugin you want right there! (Thanks ecdltf!)

My plugin just makes this field move visible, it doesn’t add it or decide when it should change.

Evan, I think that’s the second time that I post a link to the Stealth Update plugin on your support forum.

Maybe it would be a good idea to add something like “Last Modified Timestamp just displays the timestamp, it does not create or modify it!” to your description text. In bold letters 😉
